About Recruitment

• Maharashtra Public Service Commission has released Advertisement No. 017/2026 for the recruitment of Talathi (Village Revenue Officer), Group-C posts.
• A total of 1,539 Talathi vacancies are available under the Revenue & Forest Department.
• Candidates must possess any degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Maharashtra Government.
• The age limit is 18 to 38 years for Open/General candidates and up to 43 years for reserved category candidates, subject to applicable relaxation rules.
• The application process is conducted online, and the last date to apply is 5 August 2026.

Eligibility

• Candidates must be Indian citizens.
• Any degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Maharashtra Government is required.
• Educational qualification and age criteria must be fulfilled as on 5 August 2026.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Maximum age for Open/General candidates: 38 years.
• Maximum age for reserved category candidates: 43 years.
• Further relaxation applies to eligible project-affected, persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen candidates as per applicable norms.

• Caste/category certificate, if applicable.
• Non-creamy layer certificate, if applicable.
• Domicile certificate, if applicable.
• Disability certificate, if applicable.
• Ex-servicemen discharge certificate, if applicable.
• Recent passport-size photograph and signature.

Important Instructions

• The application fee is non-refundable.
• Candidates should complete KYC verification well before the last date.
• The correspondence address determines the examination centre allotted.
• Candidates must carry a valid original photo ID to the examination centre.
• Electronic devices, including mobile phones, are prohibited inside the examination centre.
